Monkeywood manufactures high-end, handmade kitchens and furniture.
As the business grew, the systems supporting it had not kept pace. Much of the operation relied on spreadsheets, paper records and manually updated information. Material prices changed regularly, quotations relied on fragmented information and planning labour, purchasing and deliveries became increasingly difficult.
The business needed a quoting process built around cabinet-level Bills of Material, giving every cabinet a defined list of materials, components and associated costs, together with better project visibility and improved planning across the business.
The Solution.
Nigel designed a bespoke business management platform using Microsoft Power Platform, built around the way Monkeywood actually works.
A new quoting system introduced cabinet-level Bills of Material, allowing material price changes to flow directly into quotations while providing accurate costing and margin calculations.
The platform also manages workshop scheduling, project management, purchasing, delivery planning and labour allocation. Integration with QuickBooks streamlines invoicing, while mobile access allows site teams to capture snagging lists, photographs and voice notes, even when working offline.
Power BI dashboards provide a real-time overview of project costs, labour utilisation and business performance.
